In Appalachia, almost 500 mountains have been blown up for coal mining. Coal River Wind Project proposes leaving the mountain intact for a wind farm to provide long-term renewable energy to the US. Reducing our dependence on coal is not only better for the environment, say Coal River Wind, but economically profitable for local citizens and companies in Appalachia.

12KW marine diesel generator I run on veggie oil. I just reworked the head and found out I have a bad piston. This is a great complimint to solar and wind power setup. I am big on backup power and emergency power. When I get it right I will post a video on how it all works.

Home Wind Powered Generator Motor Specs? Multiple Q’s, I’ll reward big on this one?

1. What are the specs of the DC motor/other required to/capable of creating a Wind (or other source) Powered Generator that will run a standard home on its own (or 12,000-16,000 kWh per year)

2. What is the torque (in Newton-Metres or Foot-Pounds) required (to be generated by the wind/other) to move that shaft fast enough to generate enough power for that home.

3. What is the speed that that shaft will be spinning (in Hertz/RPM/other) because of that Torque in #2.

Bonus 4. What is the resistance of that motor/other, that is, how much inherent resitance does it have to turning the shaft. (Probably answered when 2 & 3 are answered?)

Why hasn’t the solar paneled hover craft been created yet?

I mean in all honesty we should already be living off solar powered energy resources and wind powered, and wave powered resources.

We should technically only have a small fee to pay each month to maintain our power sources and keeping them clean.

Not to mention that our vehicles should already be powered by the sun, our cars should have sensors so they turn off to avoid an accident. Then we wouldn’t need insurance because if you are a bad driver your car turns off to prevent accidents.

I am sorry I just find that Americans are becoming more and more wasteful. And I wish we would prevent it. To be happy with what we have like family and our dwellings and to seek advancement in technology to aid us in our life’s to limit waste.

Each wind turbine in the wind park near Freiburg cost 2 million Euros. Six of these 1.8 mwh wind turbines were installed at a cost of 13 million Euros. Out of this total individuals invested in a share of the operating company in order to provide 4.6 million in capital. Five hundred and twenty people invested a minimum of 3000 Euros. Each 3000 Euros generates 12000 kwh. Each investor gets money back over twenty years from2003 to 2023. Over this time each investor gets 280% of their money back. To start with each investor gets 3% in the first year, then 5% the next year until in the last year the investor gets 20%. The tower is 98 metres height. On the top is is the 100 tonne generator. The tower was made of concrete since it is too difficult to bring steel up the mountain. The concrete tower was constructed over about three weeks. Unlike the first generation of wind turbines this new generation has no gear. The blades turn 22 times per minute transforming DC to AC. 95% of German wind turbines are privately financed. People invest because they get money back. The federal subsidy makes it a good investment. Normal electricity has a once cent per kilowatt additional cost added so that wind and other renewable’s can be purchased at a premium. Wind gets paid a couple cents more than conventional power. Solar gets paid many times more.
